History and symbolism
The zome is a natural geometric form, a place that connects with its surroundings, playing with the landscape, its shapes and reflections. It's a new way of looking at space.
EN SAVOIR PLUSZome has a singular history. It was discovered at the beginning of the twentieth century by a great Russian crystallographer. Relegated for a time to a simple, abstract mathematical equation, it wasn't until the late 1960s and the hippie counterculture that it blossomed into a concrete, human-sized habitat.
EN SAVOIR PLUSWhile the dome is inspired by a sphere, like a bubble outside the world, the zome is more mystical in that it offers a symbolic living space: 2 dual poles, one Earth and the other Sky, linked to each other by the invisible axis mundi. Each zome has its own vibration and resonates with the world in its own particular way.
EN SAVOIR PLUSSymbolically, it's the balance between unity and the source of quintessence. Information, preserved in space-time, is what enables it to be present in Nature in multiple forms.
EN SAVOIR PLUSThe zome on offer at La Réserve de l'Aube is something very special. It's a cube turned inside out by its center; the purity of geometry. Symbolically, it's the right, balanced expression of the mind. For those who want to go further, it's one of the two perfect shadows of Plato's sixth solid in the fourth dimension.
EN SAVOIR PLUSFirmly anchored in its time, our zome is built on solid ecological foundations with a low environmental impact. Its insulation, based on hemp and compacted tetrapack, is three times better than traditional housing. Constructed from 80% wood and 20% glass, it is highly ecological: wood is alive, glass is eternal.
EN SAVOIR PLUSBut let's get back to where it all began: Nature.
She's patient and waiting for you!
